The Scientific Council

The Scientific Council consists of full-time professors at the Institute, in addition to the cooperating professors, and some externally sought specialized professors. The Scientific Council is specialized in the following

A- To consider means of Scientific Planning and Organization
B -To plan Educational Programs.
C- To approve and develop the Scientific Curricula and Activities.
D- To establish the Scientific Systems and Regulations.
E- To approve the exams results.
F- To grant the Scientific Degrees.
G- To approve the Research and Publishing policy

Academic Supervisor

This position is currently occupied by Prof. Dr. Hamad Al-Nile Mohamed Al-Hassan Ibrahim, and he is in charge of the Academic responsibilities by supervising Programs, Professors and proposing regulations

Scientific Affairs Department

The department oversees the Scientific Council Secretariat, and is responsible for implementing its decisions, preserving the Academic Records of the Institute, extracting Degrees, following Admission Procedures, distributing Grants, and setting Lectures Schedules. It also undertakes Examinations Organization, and follows the Attendance and Absences, and executes the procedures for delegating Professors, in addition to supervising the enrollment of students and receiving new students, as well as supervising the Internal Affairs, visiting the Students' Programs, opening students files, and issuing students’ cards, supervising and preparing classrooms, and registering Expatriates Students at the Passports and Immigration Authorities and supervising cultural and social activities

Information Technology Unit

The Information Technology Unit tasks include

ِِA- Local Network & Telephone Network

The unit develops and maintains the telephone and computer networks, and trains employees to use the developed computer programs, in addition to providing technical support

ِِB- Website on the Network

Complete supervision of the Website and its Digital Content, follow-up of the Student Affairs Administration program on the Network, and work to provide an adequate Database for the Library

Information Technology Unit

The Information Technology Unit tasks include

C- Teaching Aids & Technology includes

I- Educational Devices include audio-visual and visual-audio equipment, television circuits, television photography, and smart boards
II- Zoom devices, photographic cameras, aids and materials associated with this aspect.
III- Computer Lab: The lab includes at present an estimated number of modern computer devices, which are capable of teaching the use of computer programs and how to implement them in teaching the Arabic language, and preparing programs for teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers.
IV-Learning Resources: Includes Learning Compartments equipped with electrical installations necessary to operate auxiliary devices and equipment on the Individual Learning System (Individualized Learning).

Financial & Administrative Affairs Department

Financial Affairs

Handles the Budget Execution, collects the Institute's various revenues and funds, provides the Institute's needs of goods and services, payroll, bonuses, grants and maintains Personnel Files

Administrative Affairs

Maintains correspondence and follows up on Administrative Decisions, monitors the attendance and departure of employees, and is responsible to supervise printing, mail, typewriting and photocopying tasks

Services & Warehouses Department

Monitors and secures the Institute’s Stores, supervises workers, organizes guarding works, supervises transportation, maintenance of the Institute’s buildings, and participates in sales and purchase procedures committees, as well as maintaining records of incoming and outgoing items and organizes the disbursement process

The Institute’s Library

The Library of the Khartoum International Institute for Arabic Language was established with the establishment of the Institute in 1974. The Library supports the Institute's Mission to spread the Arabic Language and prepare its Teachers. The library provides Scientific Materials and services to achieve this goal

The Library includes about twenty-five thousand books, including the Arabic language and its literature with a special interest in Arabic for non-Arabic Speakers, as well as materials in: Education and Psychology, Islamic Studies, and Arab-Islamic Civilization

The Library follows the Open Shelves System, and adopted the Dewey Decimal System, version 21, for classification. In indexing, it adopted the (Anglo-American) indexing rules
AACR. Moreover, the Library has an automatic index, and a Website that allows visitors to view the Titles of Researches conducted by students, and also the available resources and references
