Part Two: Academic Purposes:
This part of the questionnaire aimed at examining the
purposes of learning the Arabic language in this course
(LQ4000), fiom the students' point of view. Fourteen closed
questions, a combination of the original purposes, as well as
the expected purposes were displayed to the students. This
part ended with open-ended questions to unfold other
academic purposes for learning LQ4000 by the students.
Part Three: Students' Needs:
This part of the questionnaire contained fourteen closed
questions and one open-ended question. The questions
investigated the students' needs for taking this course. The
total items of this questionnaire, all in all were sixty items
(60 questions), distributed as mentioned earlier to one
hundred and forty three (143) students.
Method of the study:
A qualitative (described in words), as well as
quantitative (described in numbers & measures) description
was used as a method for analyzing the data collected by the
