A questionnaire was distributed to students of seven
groups who were enrolled in Arabic for specific purposes
(LQ4000) in semester 1; session (academic year) 2002-2003.
One hundred and forty three students (143) responded to the
questionnaire, 41 were male students (28.7%), and 102 of the
students were females (71.3%). The students were from all
departments in the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed
Knowledge, besides Arabic language department students'.
The students' numbers (frequency), departments, as well as
percentages, are shown below:
1. Department of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh: 59 students,

(41.5%)

2. Department of Arabic language and Literature: 44
students (13%)

3. Department of Usuluddin and Comparative Religion: 22
students (15.5%)

4. Department of Qur'an and Sunnah:17 students (12%)
